Etsy Dust Team Prizes!

During the summer, Etsy DUST (the Down Under Street Team) of Australia held a “Christmas in July” promotion. Lots of their very talented team members participated, and many of them gave great discounts and other special deals in their shops.

I’d heard about the promotion through Mandy, aka Beadsme, who is a fellow member of the JETs (Jewelry on Etsy Team) as well as a  member of DUST. I really enjoyed browsing through all their wonderful offerings and doing some early Christmas shopping. But the very best bit for me turned out to be entering their prize giveaway, and winning not one but TWO prizes!!! This was an exciting “first” for me, as I’m the kind of person who never wins anything!

With lightning speed the postman delivered my first prize - this gorgeous handmade clutch bag from Michelle of MSHandbags in Sydney, Australia. Michele uses only the highest quality fabrics in her creations, and all her handbags are one-of-a-kind or limited edition pattern and fabric combinations. I’m absolutely delighted with my prize - the craftsmanship is superb, it’s a perfect size, I love the material, and everywhere I go it attracts lots of compliments!

Incredibly, just the very next day the postman brought my second prize, this collection of stunning high quality quilled greetings cards and a bookmark, all handmade by Janice of EnchantedQuilling. As part of my prize, Janice very kindly custom made all the cards for me in my favourite lilac and purple colors, and they are so beautiful it’s going to be very difficult for me to part with them! Her passion is paper quilling, the ancient art of rolling strips of paper into coils and pressing them into the most amazing 3D creations.

So I'd like to say a huge thank you to the DUST team, but especially to Mandy, Michelle and Janice! Thank you for making my summer so special! And if you’re looking for glass jewelry, handbags or greetings cards I can personally recommend all three of these talented Australian artists! Do take the time to check out their work!

  5. I was so glad you were pleased with my greeting cards Erika, as once I was contacted by a team member from DUST to advise me who I had to send the prize to I was a little apprehensive..... you are such a talented jewelery artisan and I hoped that they would meet your high standard that your work displays.
So glad you love shades of purple, that really made it easy as that is the colour I love working with.

Thank you so much for featuring your prizes you received in our "Christmas in July" promotion, that clutch bag from Michelle is gorgeous, it was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed it so much, we will probably do it all again next year, so watch for it!
    cheers Janice
