Crafty Weekend

I've been really busy lately preparing for two craft fairs this weekend. The first is the We Make London show at Chelsea Town Hall this Saturday 26th June. Unfortunately I can't be there in person but, thanks to two wonderful fellow members of the Etsy UK Street Team IreneStrange and DaintyPrettyThings, a small selection of my jewellery will be there on display along with other handmade goodies by the Etsy UK Street Team. My work will include some of my popular Licorice Allsorts and Dolly Mixtures earrings, as well as completely new and unique lampwork glass and sterling silver necklaces which I designed especially for this event (see photos below). Thank you very much, Irina and Mary

The second event I've been preparing for is the annual Cottered Village Festival on Sunday 27th June, where I shall once more have a jewellery stall. Not sure yet whether I'll be on the main road or on the Playing Field - guess that depends on the weather as much as anything else - but look out for the dark blue tent! Barry and I were Chairman and Secretary of this event for many years until we decided it was time to let someone else have a go! The new organisers are doing a magnificient job, and we're both very much looking forward to Sunday.

Now in its 24th year, the Festival is a huge, fun occasion for all the family with lots of things going on including the 750 Motor Club car rally, Hawksdrift Falconry, Royston Electralites, a car boot sale, 6-a-side football competition, a dog scurry and agility competition, mini golf, fairground rides, books, antiques and bric-a-brac, and lots of other attractions and stalls - and of course, my jewellery! As usual, all my profits from this event will be donated to Cottered Church. Cottered is a lovely rural English village, deep in the Hertfordshire countryside, with a long and interesting history and of course our world-famous Japanese Gardens which will be open specially for the event. Do come along, it would be lovely to see you there and I'm sure you will have a wonderful time!
