Wordless Wednesday 2013 #29 - Southwold Beach Huts

Beach Huts at Southwold, Suffolk, UK

Last week's image was of the Lifeguards Hut at Southwold, and this week I'm sharing some photos of Southwold's beach huts. Which one is your favourite? Some of them are available to rent, most are privately owned, and they are all highly sought after. But would YOU pay £70,000 (over US$100,000) for one? They don't have electricity or running water, and you're not even allowed to stay overnight in them!

Southwold's beach huts are so much in demand that you can buy a house for less in some parts of the UK. Despite that, some of the huts are quite shabby and in need of a lick of paint. They tend to be painted in more subtle, pastel colours than the ones at Scarborough (see my Scarborough Beach Huts post), and are also quite different in style - individual little chalet style buildings with a veranda, instead of long terraces. Which do you prefer?
