WW 2015 #10 - Marabou Stork

Photo: Walter Kitundu

I took the two close up photos of a Marabou stork at BirdPark in Malta the other day. From behind, this fella looked just like a balding old man huddling in a thick black cloak with a high ruff collar, which goes some way to explaining why the common name for the Marabou is the "undertaker bird". Marabous are huge wading birds from tropical Africa, and dare I say not the most attractive of creatures to look at, bless them!

Wordless Wednesday is a fun way to meet new bloggers. Just post a photo on your blog (words are optional, though I'm not too good at silence!) then add a link to your post in the Linky below. You can link up with other WW participants this week by clicking on one or more of the thumbnails and, in case you've missed any, click here to see some of my previous WW posts. If you have time please leave a comment as I love to hear from you. Happy Wordless Wednesday!
